Student with Disabilities Statement
It is our policy to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 as amended, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other applicable federal and state laws and regulations that prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability. Section 504 and the ADA require that not qualified individual with an appropriately document, disclosed disability shall, by reason of such disability be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of the services, programs or activities of the College, or be subjected to discrimination by the college.
The college is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to students requesting accommodations to students such assistance and completes the college’s ADA process. Persons who believe that they have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act must contact the office of Registrar to receive information regarding the receiving of reasonable accommodations. Reasonable accommodations include additional time on tests, additional time for reading assignments, assistance in notetaking, and assistance during testing. Non-Academic Student Grievance Policy
Every student complaint, problem, or grievance is important enough to be of concern to the administration, faculty, and staff of the college. Allegheny Wesleyan College offers a grievance procedure where students may reveal their concerns, problems, and complaints with the confidence that there will be a full, fair, and prompt effort to resolve the grievance. (Please note that if you have a grievance that concerns Title IX or disabilities refer to Title IX Compliance section above.)
