Searching for Something?

Many people search for riches, fame, happiness, worldly pleasures… and the list goes on and on. However, most find misery, heartbreak, loneliness, and sorrow. This is sad, and it is also NOT God’s will for us.  In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches us to pray, after which he continues to discuss the many needs of human beings such as, money, daily bread, clothes, eternal life, etc. In Verse 33 He states, “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” What does this mean? If we have Jesus in our hearts, He will supply our needs. Does this mean life will be all easy-peasy lemon-squeezy? Not necessarily, yet God is faithful!  If we seek Him with EVERY thing in us, He will be found. In Him, we have everything we need here on earth. Most importantly, after death, we will have an eternal life in heaven with Him!

When Israel was in a time of trials and exile, God told them in Jeremiah 29:13, “ye shall seek me and FIND me, when he shall search for me with ALL your heart.” They did and found His promises are true. You can trust Him; He doesn’t fail. Psalm 9:10 states, “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” Seek Him; even if you are a Christian, continue to seek, love, and obey Him because in Him you have everything! If you have not sought Him, you are missing out!  If you are struggling in your seeking or have not yet found Him, I Chronicles 16:11 says, “Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.” I would encourage you to continually seek Him! Seek God and find Him. He loves you, He is faithful, and He can and will be found! When there seem to be no answers, He is the answer to what you are searching for!
