Greetings, for this week’s Advent devotional, the topic is on peace. When Jesus was born into this world, Jerusalem was under the control of the Romans. This time period was not one of peace. In fact, Jesus was born during a time of great unrest in Jerusalem. There was Roman occupation, political turmoil, and social unrest. However, despite the conditions of Jerusalem, Jesus, the peace of the world, was born. In a time of so much unrest and fear of what the future held, Peace was born. But you see, people had a wrong concept of why Jesus came to them. They believed Jesus came to give deliverance from all the political unrest, when in reality, Jesus came to bring deliverance from spiritual unrest! And today, Jesus, the Prince of Peace, came to bring peace and deliverance for your life. Are you letting peace rule in your heart? If not, what are you going to do about it?
