We have reached the last week for our final devotional and final giveaways. So far we have talked about hope, peace, and joy. This week’s devotional is on the last topic of advent. That is the topic of love. Jesus is the source of love, and this love was demonstrated in the birth of Jesus. I John 4:9-10 says, “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” Jesus is love and this love came to this world over 2,000 years ago. Why? To provide a way of atonement for the human race. A race that was lost in sin, and the only thing they deserved was eternal separation from God. However, there was one solution for this problem. The death of a guiltless sacrifice, Jesus. Even though it meant His own life, He willingly paid the price, spanning the gulf between God and man. Praise the Lord for the gift of “Love” that came to this world so many years ago! A love that is still reaching out and saving souls today!
