When to Visit
Please call to make reservations if you would like a tour of the campus, but you are welcome to visit the campus at your convenience. Offices are normally open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Since AWC desires for its students to manifest spiritual growth, revivals are scheduled both in the fall and spring semesters. Refer to upcoming revival for dates and time. Your presence at these services will be an encouragement to our staff and students.
During the semester, chapel services are scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Along with campus speakers, the college schedules guest speakers which include evangelists from surrounding churches as well as missionaries.
Each Wednesday evening a prayer meeting is held in the chapel from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Ministerial Association and Mission Band are responsible for one Wednesday prayer meeting a month. Dorm prayer meetings are led by the respective deans; also, students are encouraged to initiate their own prayer meetings. A time of prayer and praise is held in the chapel every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:45.
Allegheny Educators’ Convention
This convention is held in October with a special speaker who gears topics toward enabling and inspiring the Christian educator.
Allegheny Missions Convention
Home and foreign missionary services are conducted during the school year. The annual missions convention is held during the month of March.
Van Wormer Lectures
A revival meeting is scheduled at the early part of each semester. The spring revival is called Van Wormer Lectures. The speaker usually focuses on a specific topic in the morning services. The evening services are evangelistic. These meetings set the spiritual tone for that semester.
Harvist Days is held the first Friday evening in October. This is a time for graduates, former students, and those interested in the college to renew acquaintance and enjoy a program of music and award presentations.
The Christmas program is presented by the college choir at an off-campus site. Presently, we are using United Local High School, 8143 South Route 9, Hanoverton, OH.
The music director invites young people from churches and Christian day schools who do well playing instruments or singing to participate at this evening of music and fellowship. Vocal and instrumental solos, duets, or ensemble pieces are welcome. Singspiration is held the first Friday evening in March at 7:00 p.m.
This is designed especially for all high school students and recent graduates. Parents and sponsors are encouraged to attend. Prayer meetings, classes, ball games, canoe rides, a picnic, and musical program are part of the itinerary for Get-Acquainted Days. This is normally held the last Thursday and Friday of April. However, this year the date will be May 1-2, 2014.
AWC has Baccalaureate and Commencement services held in the chapel each year.
