The following list is provided to give you an idea of what sort of items you’ll need as you pack for college. If it doesn't have a practical use, then leave it at home. If you need additional supplies, they can be purchased at the local Super Wal-Mart, drug or grocery stores. If you are cramped for space in your packing, you might want to wait until you arrive to buy some items. You’ll find plenty of stores in the Salem or surrounding area. | |
Check List: Clothes to bring: School, church and formal events (banquets, etc.), sleepwear, work, recreation, coats (spring and winter), raincoat, shoes, gloves, hats (winter wear) A word to the wise: due to the amount of walking to the various classes, you want to invest in a good pair of durable, comfortable shoes for everyday wear. Slippers (for dorm wear) and shower shoes (flip-flops are good) Clothes hangers Deodorant Dental Needs: Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Mouthwash, Floss Hair spray, comb, brush, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer Laundry items: detergent, dryer sheets, fabric softener, stain remover Bedding: sheets, bedspread, pillows, an extra blanket, mattress pad Shower items: towels, washcloths, soap, shower gel Study/Class Items: Notebooks, index cards, ink pens, pencils, paper clips, highlighters, etc. Personal room items: Air freshener, family pictures, area rug, sewing kit, alarm clock, curtains, cleaning supplies (for cleaning room)
